Look what I found!

I came across with this fantastic idea to repurpose a baby bed, and create a desk for the kids! Genius!

What do you think about this? Isn't it so cute? 

If you have a cot similar to this, but you don't actually like the finish of it, why not grab a paintbrush and do a makeover? 

 

For this purpose I would recommend to use chalk paint from Annie Sloan. This is a high quality paint and available in several beautiful colours! It is called chalk paint because of its velvety, matte appearance, but this is not a chalkboard paint! 

For less expensive version you might want to try a different type of wood paint, but I would suggest to use water based paint as it has less odour and easier to work with! :) If you didn't do such painting project earlier, definitely ask for help of a staff member in store!

The black chalkboard paint is available online and in many stores, and became very popular recently. I have worked with Rustoleum chalkboard paint on one of my projects and was very pleased with it. I would recommend it with no hesitation. For more information about chalkboard paint you can check out some reviews on YouTube as well. It helped me a lot! :)

Beside all this you might want to get some accessories for the new desk! :) Ikea has a wide and inexpensive range of little storage, hooks and even a roll of paper for drawing! Excellent products!
However you don't need to spend on it, you can also repurpose some boxes as chalk and pencil holders. For this purpose you might look at a mascarpone box, a camambert box or a toilet paper roll with a different eye ;) (More ideas coming soon on this, can't wait to share with you!)
